Firefly lasted for just one year, from 2002 to 2003. It was about some people in a spaceship traveling the galaxy, five-hundred-years in the future. These people were just trying to survive while traveling throughout the galaxy and avoiding different things and other space travelers out to get them. There are probably a lot of people who know all there is to know about the series but there might be some things they haven’t heard of yet.
The Killer Angels
A novel by Michael Shaara called ‘The Killer Angels’ is actually what inspired the television series. The novel is about soldiers from the Union and Confederate sides fighting in the American Civil War. Only Five Members in the Original Crew
Although Firefly ended up with 9 cast members, it originally started out as 5 and was actually supposed to stay that way.
The First Inara
Although Morena Baccarin now plays Inara, the original and first one to be cast as her was Rebecca GayHeart. However, she didn’t have enough chemistry with the rest of the cast so was let go two days after she was hired for it. Morena was hired and started shooting the same day and has been ever since.
Neil Patrick Harris as Dr. Simon Tam?
Although Sean Maher is the Dr. Simon Tam, Neil Patrick Harris originally auditioned for the role.
The Theme Song
The creator of Firefly didn’t just create the show but also wrote the theme song for it as well. The theme song is titled, ‘The Ballad of Serenity.’
Star Wars and Firefly
Star Wars had a big influence on the creator of the show. Some Star Wars spacecraft’s were actually used in the show.
Zac Efron Got His Start on the Show
