Clint Eastwood A Life In Pictures

On May 31, 1930 in San Francisco Clinton Eastwood, Jr. was born.  He weighed in at 11 lbs. 6 ozs and this earned him the nickname “Samson” from his nurses in the hospital.

Eastwood’s father, Clinton Eastwood, Sr., was a migrant worker and steelworker.  His mother Margaret Ruth Eastwood (nee Runner) was a factory worker.  Completing the family was Clint’s younger sister Jeanne.  Because of the father’s work the family moved frequently finally settling in Piedmont California.

Clint was a student at Piedmont Junior High School and planned to go on to the Piedmont High School.  However, before he enrolled he tore up the turf on their sports field riding his bike and was asked not to attend their institution.

Instead Clint attended Oakland Technical High School.  There he was encouraged by the drama teachers to participate in plays at the school, but he was not interested.

Clint Eastwood served in the U.S. Army during the time of the Korean War.  He was stationed at Fort Ord in California working as a lifeguard.  While he was working at Fort Ord Universal International Studio was filming there.  Eastwood caught the attention of an assistant who brought him to the attention of the series director.

Universal Studios employed Eastwood even though they thought he was amateurish and questioned his acting skills, his stiff manner and his habit of hissing his lines through his teeth.

Clint Eastwood played a number of bit parts until his supporting role in “Rawhide”.  This is when he rose to prominence as an actor.  Following were the “Dollars” trilogy when he played a man with no name and rose to fame.  Clint Eastwood has had many successful years as an actor, director, producer and composer.

Another of Clint Eastwood’s interests is politics.  Recently he was a speaker in prime time at the Republican National Convention in support of Mitt Romney.

He registered as a Republican in 1952 and supported both Dwight Eisenhower and Richard Nixon.  However, he later criticized Nixon on Watergate and the Vietnam War.

Over the years Eastwood has described himself as a moderate and a libertarian.  In 2009 he said he was registered as a Libertarian.

He has supported Democrats as well as Republicans.  He is a supporter of pro-choice, same sex marriage, gun legislation and the Equal Rights Amendment for Women.

In 1986 Clint Eastwood was elected mayor of Carmel By The Sea, his adopted hometown.  He served for two years.  In 2001 Eastwood was appointed to the California State Park and Recreation Commission and he was reappointed in 2004.  In 2004 he was appointed to the California Film Commission.  He was also a spokesperson for Take Pride In America which promotes taking responsibility for national, cultural and historic resources and is an agency of the U.S. Department of the Interior.

Clint Eastwood married Maggie Johnson December 19, 1953.  They had two children Kyle Eastwood and Alison Eastwood; The two finalized their divorce in May 1984.

While he and Maggie were separated he had an affair with dancer Roxanne Tunis and they had one child Kimber Tunis.  It was not until 1996 that he publicly acknowledged this child.

His second marriage on March 31, 1996 was to Dina Ruiz and they have one daughter Morgan Eastwood.

Mr Eastwood is my favorite actor, I’ve been a fan since I was a kid when my Dad and I would watch Dirty Harry and his westerns. You could not ask for a better role model than him, he handles himself well and doesn’t take any BS. My one wish is to sit and have a cup of coffee with him and just shoot the sh_t. Thanks for all the great movies and the many more to come. Hopefully one day we can have that cup.

  4. I stand the same size as clint from his ring to his boot we are same, I like clint in the movies wish he wouldn’t have use the same cast, he has his own style as do I, people like us are rebels we do as we want and the world can except it or not, we don’t care just the way we where made, I am 50 and I have been about trying to change the world and as of 2008 my wife and I got the attention of a nation company and they started doing what we did, I knew they couldn’t keep up with my work for honesty is the key and no one can hang in there with selling the public cars at prices never seen before, I partnered up with 63 credit union and told them I will bring aucton direct to each credit union, for the first time a dealership and the credit unions partner up, we have been bring thier members prices no one could believe, the way it works is we buy mostly new models and low miles and only price our vehicles at one thousand over true cost, I have been to auctions and bought vehicles with just a few hundred to few thousand of mile on vehicle of the same year, and when i get in these vehicles for prides as low as half price I have alot of testomials of selling vehicle below half price and this is what make us a one of a kind helping those to get vehicle with alot of edquite payment lower then dealers can lease them for and salt damages are not bought from northern to coastal for these car’s have cancer and the credit unions have been educated in this concept and with no overhead the vehicle are sold before I get back because each one who buys get a 3 day ride and drive after we have certified each car to see the member is get a good car no wrecks this make use a one of a kind company and I have so many witness to what this has done for them after 8 years of this we have so many stories of members who say,” when we first saw the prices we said, woesale.” yes money isn’t everything help other is the greatest commandment is LOVE and I love doing this to help others……..dale spencer 601-624-9980 thanks for the time.
