Boss Hogg’s a Nice Guy

Check out a few episodes of “The Dukes of Hazzard”.  Do you remember an episode when Boss Hogg was, for a short time, a nice guy?

Series 7, Episode 5, 1984 “No More Mr. Nice Guy”

Daisy is notified she has won a prize from the Capital City Department Store for being their one-millionth customer.  The contest is not real and all the prizes are stolen property.  Boss Hogg is behind this plot to bring trouble to the Dukes.

Boss develops amnesia after bumping his head and becomes a caring, honest, fair man with a plan to end the illegal activities in the area.  He now appreciates the Dukes and plans to enlist them to help him “clean up Hazzard County of all corruption”.

The bad guys who were in business with Boss in his illegal scams are afraid he will reveal them.  They try to kidnap him and their efforts are hilarious.

While he is suffering his good guy complex, Boss wants to be known as Jefferson Davis Hogg or just Jefferson, not Boss or J.D.

Unfortunately Boss receives a second bump on his head and reverts back to his normal self, no more a nice guy.

Series 7, Episode 15, 1985 “Strange Visitor to Hazzard”

Imagine finding a space alien stowing away in the General Lee.  This is what happened to Bo and Luke when the alien known as “the visitor” comes to call.

Boss Hogg and Roscoe plan to kidnap “the visitor” when they learn about him.  They figure they can have some fun and also make a profit.  Only problem is some crooks have the same idea and want to use “the visitor” to help them rob businesses in Hazzard.

Series 3, Episode 37, 1980 “Carnival of Thrills”, Part 1

A stunt show “The Carnival of Thrills” features a driver jumping over 32-parked cars.  The Duke family goes to enjoy the show. Something goes wrong and the jump is not successful. The driver is hurt.  Diane Benson who is the shapely carnival owner offers Bo the job as a stunt driver.  She has been working her seductive charms on Bo and he is putty in her hands.

Uncle Jesse, Luke and Daisy are suspicious of this woman and her offer.  They learn from the insurance investigator that there have been other mishaps and some of those were not accidents.  Luke tries to get this message through to Bo, but he is not in the mood to listen.

There is a big fight resulting in Bo leaving the Duke farm.  He threatens more problems for the family.

Does Bo accept the job as stunt driver?  Does he come back to the farm?  Is everything again good with the Dukes?  What happens in Part 2?
