Babies and Triangles …History Repeating Itself a la Sami?

It seems no matter how hard I try to get over a storyline, somehow, I get sucked right back into the drama.  And before you say it’s par for the course in the soap opera world, I just find it funny how I manage to hate one character one minute, and then love him or her the next.

Take Gabi.  I couldn’t STAND her for coming between Chad and Melanie back in the day.  I labeled her obsessive in my mind, and would try and will her off my TV screen, going so far as to posting on any DOOL Facebook page that I could find my unending hatred for her.  However, my dear readers, that has all changed thanks to one ex-con named Nick.

Now, as with Gabi, I hated Nick for what he did to Melanie.  I was glad to see Nick go, and was surprised when the powers-that-be decided he needed to return to Salem.  I was skeptical at first, thinking he was going to cause more drama to Melanie’s life, but once she forgave him, I guess I did, too.

Pairing Nick with Gabi—total awesomeness!  I ADORE these two together.  Both coming from awkward moments in their past, and now coming together to explore new horizons—it’s genius! They GET each other, they understand the other’s past, and are ready to wipe the slate clean and move ahead.  Somehow, I’ve gone from hating Gabi’s antics to loving her with Nick.  Sadly, my love seems to be tested as we can see that the pitter patter of little feet may interfere in this blossoming relationship.

Which brings me to:  Triangles.  We’ve all seen them play out, sometimes repeatedly by the same three people, other times by totally new players.  And yet, those triangles, while sometimes drawn out too far like a stretched elastic band, once again bring the viewer to see things in a new way.  With so many different triangles happening in Salem who can keep track half the time of what is truth and what isn’t?  The triangle between Nick/Gabi/Will/Sonny is going to be a huge thing in the coming weeks, especially once Nick learns that Will is the father of Gabi’s baby.  I’m sure all of Salem will scratch their heads and say, “wait, wasn’t Will gay?”

The little indiscretion between Will and Gabi came at the best time, and yet at the worst time.  I say best, because you had these two people who sought solace in each other because they both felt that the world was against them for being who/what they were.  Then the worst time of course now that we have seen how HAPPY Nick and Gabi are, likewise with Sonny and Will.

Also, didn’t Will learn ANYTHING from seeing Sami jump from Lucas to Austin to EJ to Rafe and back to EJ?  Why didn’t he use any form of protection?  For someone that used to talk bad about his mother’s actions—-pot, meet kettle.

  1. I hope Will decides not to give up his parental rights. I think Nick is going to wig out again. He seems so stable he’s unstable…I think Will and Sonny should raise the baby with Gabi..one big happy family.

i think you missed another Lucas in there somewhere. maybe someone else too…

when little,Sierra asked her if she & Eric are twins why isn’t she a nun if he’s a priest! Sami said, “I think the Vatican would lock the doors screaming, ‘Here comes Sister Sami!’”

Eric’s response was, “I think the pope would fall into a coma.” i was ROTFLMAO!!!

AS AN OLDER VIEWER I AM SO TIRED OF THE TRIANGLES. I WOULD LOVE TO SEE GABBI, WILL, NICK, AND SONNY DO THE RIGHT THING. GABBI AND NICK GET MARRIED. WILL AND SONNY SEE WHERE THERE RELATIONSHIP IS GOING AND THEY ALL BECOME RESPONSIBLE PARENTS FOR THIS CHILD. MAYBE THIS VILLAGE CAN RAISE A HAPPY, WELL-ADJUSTED CHILD. COME ON WRITERS GIVE US SOMETHING WE CAN REALLY WRAP OUR BRAIN AROUND.
